Tom Holland, who played a boy looking after his injured mother after the Thailand tsunami in 2012’s “The Impossible,” has more heroics in his future.

The 19-year-old English actor has been cast as the next Spider-Man. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures said he’ll star in a Spidey film set for release July 28, 2017, although the web-slinger reportedly is set to appear first in next year’s “Captain America: Civil War.”

He’ll be the third actor to wear the Spider-Man suit on the big screen in less than a decade, after three movies starring Tobey Maguire and two with Andrew Garfield.

Holland also appeared in “Locke” and the TV series “Wolf Hall.” He can be seen this December in Ron Howard’s “In the Heart of the Sea.”
