‘Game of Thrones’ star replaces Robert Pattinson in new film

Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow on “Game of Thrones” — surprisingly killed off in the show’s season five finale — will be joining a whole bunch of his “Thrones” castmates as he replaces Robert Pattinson in the upcoming film “Brimstone.” Harington’s former “Game of Thrones” colleagues in the thriller include Carice van Houten, Paul Anderson, Jack Roth and Carla Juri.

The movie, directed by Dutch filmmaker Martin Koolhoven, stars Dakota Fanning (who herself replaced orginally-cast Mia Wasikowska) as a young woman running from her past — hunted by an evil preacher, played by Guy Pearce. Harington will portray an outlaw in the film.

While filming has begun on “Brimstone,” Harington will next be seen in “7 Days in Hell,” a tennis mockumentary co-starring Andy Samberg and debuting on HBO July 7.
