A man was shot in the Austin neighborhood Wednesday night.

About 10:35 p.m., the 20-year-old was walking on the sidewalk in the 4600 block of West Washington when he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to his buttocks, police said. His condition had stabilized.
