A man was shot in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side early Wednesday.

The man, 58, told police he was leaving a bar in the 4000 block of West Lawrence about 1:45 a.m. when he felt pain in his leg, then realized he’d been shot, police said. He said he didn’t hear gunfire. Ali Baba Hookah Cafe is the only late-night establishment located on that block.

The man is in fair condition at Community First Medical Center, police said.
