The Bulls drafted forward Taj Gibson with the 29th overall pick in 2009, and he turned 30 years old on Wednesday.
The former USC Trojan averaged nine points, six rebounds and one assist during his five year career. Gibson had his best year in 2014 when he averaged 13 points and seven rebounds.
The 30-year-old has two more years left on his 4-year, $33 million contract, but the five-year veteran will undergo ankle surgery this summer and is expected to miss four months.
