The NHL released the 2015-16 schedule Thursday morning, providing the Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks their first look at the road to a repeat.

As they learned Wednesday, the Blackhawks open the season and raise their sixth Stanley Cup banner on Oct. 7 against the New York Rangers at the United Center. Two days later, the Hawks will be at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn to usher in a new era for the New York Islanders, who will play there after 43 seasons at Nassau Coliseum.

The 2015-16 schedule is highlighted by the Blackhawks’ second Stadium Series appearance and fourth outdoor game when they face off against the Minnesota Wild at TCF Bank Stadium on Feb. 21 at 2:30 p.m.

The Hawks will have their first rematch of the 2015 Stanley Cup against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Oct. 24 at the United Center.
