A 40-year-old man is in critical condition after a Thursday night shooting in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The man was in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle about 10:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 77th Street when a gunman approached and opened fire, striking the man in the neck and shoulder, police said.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
