With the eighth pick in the 1987 NBA Draft, the Bulls selected University of Virginia center Olden Polynice, but then later traded him to the Seattle SuperSonics for Hall of Fame forward Scottie Pippen from the University of Central Arkansas.

This could be known as the best draft day trade in Bulls’ history. The Bulls traded Polynice, who averaged eight points and seven rebounds during his 15-year career, for Pippen, who averaged 16 points, six rebounds and five assists during his 17-year career and helped the Bulls win six championships.
Pippen retired with the Bulls in 2004.
