A 47-year-old man was shot in the arm late Friday in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

He was standing in an alley about 11:55 p.m. in the 6000 block of South Champlain when someone fired shots from a white van, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, Gaines said.
