A man was shot in the back Friday afternoon on the South Side.

The 21-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 5100 block of South Prairie about 2 p.m. when someone got out of a vehicle and started shooting, police said.

The victim was shot in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said. The shooter got back in the vehicle, which drove away.
