DETROIT — The White Sox’ scheduled game against the Detroit Tigers Saturday has been postponed because of rain.

The game has been rescheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21 as part of a day-night doubleheader in Detroit.

John Danks, who has struggled in June with an 0-4 record and 6.85 ERA over six starts, was scheduled to start and will be skipped over in the return. Jeff Samardzija will pitch in the series finale on Sunday against Tigers ace David Price.

The Sox are off on Monday and will start Chris Sale on Tuesday against the Cardinals in St. Louis and Jose Quintana on Wednesday in the two-game series. The day off Monday allowed Quintana to be move up in front of rookie Carlos Rodon, who will get extra rest as the Sox monitor his workloard in his first season as a major league starting pitcher.
