A suicidal person was taken into custody after a barricade situation lasted nearly eight hours Monday morning in west suburban Wheaton.
Officers responded to a call of a suicidal person barricaded inside a home in the 1000 block of East Liberty Drive about 2:25 a.m., according to Wheaton police.
A few minutes later, family members were allowed to leave the home, a statement from police said. Several neighborhood homes were also evacuated.
