SHARE Hammond woman dies in south suburban crash

A northwest Indiana woman died in a south suburban crash on Sunday.

Charisse E. Wesley, 46, was involved in the crash about 4 a.m. near Torrence Avenue and River Oaks Drive in Calumet City, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Wesley, of Hammond, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and pronounced dead at 11:34 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy performed Monday found she died of multiple injuries and ruled her death an accident.

Calumet City police did not immediately return a call for comment.
