Charges are pending against a driver who struck a Chicago Police squad car Tuesday night in the West Side Austin neighborhood, leaving three officers injured.

The crash happened about 8:15 p.m. in the 100 block of North Lavergne Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

The driver ran a red light and their vehicle t-boned a Chicago Police vehicle. Three officers were taken from the crash to a hospital, though their injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Charges are pending against the driver who ran the light as of Wednesday afternoon, police said.
