SHARE Police: Robbers ordering car service, then robbing drivers

Police are warning car services of robbers who are calling drivers in the Southwest Side Chicago Lawn neighborhood to rob them.

The suspects order a car service, and when the vehicle arrives, pull out a handgun and demand the driver’s money and cellphone, a community alert from Chicago Police said.

Robberies happened about 7:40 p.m. May 18 in the 7100 block of South Bell; and about 3:20 a.m. June 2 in the 6800 block of South Oakley, police said.

The suspects are described as two or three black males 16-23, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9, and 150-180 pounds.
