Police are warning residents about a series of armed robberies in the Avondale and Hermosa neighborhoods on the Northwest Side.
In each case, multiple suspects armed with a handgun approach people on the street or in small stores and demand their money, according to a community alert issued by Area North detectives.
The robberies happened:
At 11:45 p.m. May 30 in the 3000 block of North Milwaukee;
At 8:30 p.m. June 9 in the 3900 block of West Barry;
At 9:30 p.m. June 15 in the 3000 block of North Karlov; and
At 6:48 p.m. June 16 in the 2200 block of North Karlov.
The suspects are described as several men between roughly 18 and 25 years old, police said.
