A 53-year-old woman died after a crash northwest Indiana on Tuesday evening.

At 8:05 p.m., Kathern S. Stafford was pronounced dead at the scene near the intersection of 61st Avenue and Colorado Street in Hobart, according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office. She had suffered blunt force trauma in a motor vehicle accident.

Stafford lived in the 3600 block of Dione Street in Lake Station, authorities said.

Hobart police could not immediately be reached for more details.
