Man shot in foot on NW Side

A 24-year-old man was shot in the foot late Tuesday in the Belmont Central neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The shooting happened about 11:20 p.m. in the 6100 block of West Melrose, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

He was taken to Community First Medical Center in good condition, Gaines said.

Details on the attack were unclear early Wednesday as the victim gave investigators conflicting accounts of the shooting, police said.
