A man remains in critical condition after a shooting last week that also injured another man in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

The victims, 20 and 28, were standing outside in the 7800 block of South Drexel Avenue about 4:50 p.m. Thursday when they heard gunshots and saw two people running away, police said.

The older man was shot in the head and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. Police initially said he had died of his injuries, but corrected that information on Monday afternoon, when they said he remained in critical condition.

The younger man was shot in the buttocks. His condition was stabilized at Stroger, police said.
