SHARE Police: Jogger attacked in Elgin

Police are searching for the male who attacked a female jogging Wednesday morning in northwest suburban Elgin.

At 11:51 a.m., the female was jogging near McBride Street north of Kimball Street when the male walked up and threw her to the ground, according to a statement from Elgin police.

A person on a bike saw the attack and stopped to assist the female, at which point the male ran away, police said.

Investigators searched the area with the use of a K9 but could not find the suspect, police said. He is described as a white male with reddish/brown hair and was last seen wearing a green shirt and light-colored pants.
