Chicagoans might be proud of their baseball teams, but Chitown received no love in a recent survey on best and worst baseball cities.
Wallet Hub, a personal finance site, ranked the best and worst cities for major league and Division I baseball based on several criteria, but mainly team performance, ticket costs and fan engagement.
Chicago ranked No. 45 overall, but among MLB cities the Second City was dead last.

So for all of you baseball fanatics out there, WalletHub crunched the numbers to find the best and worst cities in the U.S. to follow your favorite American pastime, especially if you’re a spectator on a tight budget. To rank the cities, we looked at 11 key metrics such as the performance level of each city’s teams, average ticket and minimum season ticket prices, stadium accessibility and more.
The Cubs and White Sox were graded poorly for performance, accessibility and average ticket price, where they ranked No. 23 in all categories.
St. Louis was the top-ranked city and Providence, R.I. brought up the rear.
