Attempted child luring reported in South Shore

Police issued an alert after two men tried to lure a girl into their vehicle Monday in the South Shore neighborhood.

The incident occurred about 6:20 a.m. in the 7200 block of South Stony Island Avenue, when two men attempted to lure a 14-year-old girl into their vehicle, according to a statement from Chicago Police. The girl ran away and the driver followed her a short distance before going off in an unknown direction.

The suspects were driving an older, dark blue two-door car with tinted side windows, police said. The men are 33 to 40 years of age and were last seen wearing black jackets. One of them wore a black hat.
