A 37-year-old west suburban man who walked into a South Loop street was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday afternoon.

Richard Hill walked into oncoming traffic about 12:40 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Columbus when he was struck, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Hill, of the 3000 block of Monroe Street in Bellwood, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:07 p.m., authorities said.

The driver of the vehicle, a female, remained on the scene and was not issued citations, police said.
