A man was shot early Sunday in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 35-year-old was standing on a porch about 12:05 a.m. in the 8600 block of South Carpenter when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot, police said.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
