“Chicago Med,” the third series in producer Dick Wolf’s locally based NBC franchise, will be on the air sooner than expected, and fans have the stork to thank.
Originally planned for midseason, the show has been moved upto fill the hour originally slotted for another medical drama. Shooting on “Heartbreaker” is on hold now that star Melissa George is expecting her second child, the Hollywood trades report.
No premiere date for “Chicago Med” has been announced, but it’s expected to air in an enviable time slot at 8 p.m. Tuesdays, right after the hit “The Voice.” That will make a two-hour block of Windy Citydrama with “Chicago Fire” airing at 9 p.m.
The “Chicago Med” teamwas introduced in an April episode of “Chicago Med.” Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Laurie Holden, Nick Gehlfuss and Yaya Dacosta are among the cast members of the show, set in a hospital dealing with constant pandemonium.
