A man told police he was shot in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side Sunday morning.

The man, 29, told investigators he was walking in the 3500 block of West Van Buren at 11:11 a.m. when he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

He took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. Police are looking into whether the shooting was gang-related. A source said the victim has a documented gang history.
