Two men were shot and seriously wounded Sunday afternoon in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The men, ages 21 and 23, were sitting on a porch about noon in the 900 block of West 87th Street when one of two males who had approached them opened fire, police said. The shooter and his companion then ran off.

The 21-year-old was shot in the back and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, while the 23-year-old, shot in the neck, was taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. Both were in serious condition.
