MILSTADT — Ameren Illinois says a snake got into a breaker, knocking out electricity to about 2,500 customers in southern Illinois.

Ameren officials say crews were able to turn the power back on within about three hours after the Sunday night incident.

KSDK-TV reports the outages were in the Milstadt and Belleville areas.
