A 28-year-old man died Friday morning after he was pulled out of Lake Michigan near Belmont Harbor on the North Side.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit was called about a person in the water near the 300 block of West Belmont at 10:10 a.m., police said.

He was unresponsive when he was pulled out of the water and taken to Saint Joseph Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

An autopsy on Saturday was inconclusive pending further studies, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His name was still being withheld Monday afternoon pending notification of his family.
