Four burglaries were reported in five days in the Woodlawn neighborhood earlier this month, police said.

According to an alert from Area Central detectives, the burglaries occurred:

  • about 2 p.m. June 1 in the 6400 block of South St. Lawrence;
  • about 4:45 p.m. June 4 in the 6600 block of South Marquette;
  • about 7:20 a.m. June 5 in the 6300 block of South Langley;
  • and about 4:10 p.m. June 5 in the 6300 block of South St. Lawrence.

In each case, several men wait until residents leave their home before breaking in through the front or back door and taking property, police said. In one case, a resident confronted the three men — described as black, between 20 and 25 years old — who then ran off.

Anyone with information on the burglaries is asked to call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
