A person was shot Sunday afternoon in southwest suburban Oak Lawn.

Just before 2 p.m., Oak Lawn police were called to help Chicago Fire Department crews searching for a gunshot victim in the 10200 block of South Pulaski, according to a statement from Oak Lawn police.

Officers found a person shot in the hip inside an apartment on the block, police said. The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center with injuries that weren’t thought to be life-threatening.

Chicago fire officials could not immediately provide details about the victim. Police declined to release more information, but said there was no threat to the public.
