A man was injured when his vehicle crashed into a ditch off the Kennedy Expressway on the Northwest Side late Monday.

The man, described only as an adult, was driving northbound on the Kennedy (I-90/94) near Belmont about 11 p.m. when his vehicle struck a light pole, then rolled over, Illinois State Police said.

The SUV could be seen lying on its side in a grassy ditch off the road.

The man was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Lanes had been reopened as of midnight.
