Police are warning residents about a pair of armed robberies reported in the past week on the West Side.
In both instances, victims were sitting in parked vehicles when two robbers approached, displayed handguns and stole money and cell phones from them, according to a community alert from Chicago Police. In one incident, the robbers drove away in a turquoise vehicle.
The first robbery occurred in the 3800 block of West Arthington at 11:45 a.m. June 3, police said. The second occurred in the 600 block of South Lawndale at 4:15 p.m. June 5.
One of the suspects was described as an 18 to 20-year-old man standing 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 and weighing about 140 pounds, police said. The other is a man about 18 to 22 years old.
