A 28-year-old man died Monday after being shot last week along with another man in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

Kenneth J. Williams and a 20-year-old man were standing outside in the 7800 block of South Drexel Avenue about 4:50 p.m. Thursday when they heard gunshots and saw two people running away, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Williams, of the 15800 block of South Marshfield in Harvey, was shot in the head and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died at 4:54 p.m. Monday, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The younger man was shot in the buttocks, and his condition was stabilized at Stroger, police said.
