Two shot in Auburn Gresham

Two people were shot early Tuesday in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

About 2:30 a.m., the 50-year-old man and 60-year-old woman were sitting on a porch in the 8300 block of South Kerfoot when someone exited a vehicle nearby and fired shots, police said. The shooter then jumped back into the vehicle, which sped away.

The woman was shot in the chest, buttocks and abdomen and was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, police said. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, where his condition was stabilized.
