A man killed in a shooting that left two other people injured early Saturday in the West Side Austin neighborhood has been identified.

The men, ages 24, 26 and 27, were standing outside about 3:15 a.m. in the 200 block of South Laramie when they got into an altercation and shots were fired, police said.

Eric Loyd, 26, of the 1400 block of South Avers was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, according to to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The 27-year-old suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. The youngest man was shot in the leg and also taken to Mount Sinai, where his condition was stabilized.

A police source said all three men are documented gang members.
