Man shot in Rogers Park

A 27-year-old man was shot in Rogers Park on the North Side late Tuesday afternoon.

About 5 p.m., he was outside in the 1600 block of West Sherwin when a gunman walked up and opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

He suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and stomach and was taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston. His condition stabilized, police said.

The shooting likely was gang-related, police said.
