A 31-year-old man has been charged with forcing his way into a friend’s home and injuring him Wednesday morning in west suburban Batavia.

Jose E. Garcia is charged with home invasion and aggravated battery, both felonies, according to a statement from Batavia police.

Garcia forced his way into the friend’s home in the 700 block of Walnut Street and they got into a fight over personal matters about 3:10 a.m., police said.

During the fight, Garcia’s friend suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.

Garcia, who also lives in the 700 block of Walnut Street in Batavia, was taken into custody at the home and is in custody at the Kane County Jail.
