The White Sox lost three of four to the Royals in their first action since the All-Star break, which should inch the club closer to “sell” mode before the July 31 trade deadline.

FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reported Monday that the White Sox are, indeed, listening to offers for starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija — the most high-profile of their free agents to-be.

“White Sox in ‘listening mode,’ Rosenthal wrote on Twitter. “Samardzija most likely to go; only potential free agent of significance.”

He then mentioned that the Sox will not have a huge firesale and trade off staff ace Chris Sale.

Samardzija is 6-5 with a 4.08 ERA in 19 starts. He’s been terrific since mid-June, posting a 2.77 ERA and 42 strikeouts in his last seven starts.
