A man died Wednesday morning after jumping from the roof of a parking garage next to a high-rise in the North Side Lake View neighborhood.

Officers were called to the building in the 3600 block of North Lake Shore Drive about 7:06 a.m. and found the man dead, police said.

Police said he apparently fell from a building, which the Cook County medical examiner’s office identified as the roof of a parking garage.

He was identified as David Gerald Hartman, 33, of the 3100 block of West Wallen, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Thursday found that he died of multiple injuries from jumping from a height, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a suicide.
