A man was wounded in a shooting in the Brighton Park neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

About 2:20 p.m., the 23-year-old was a passenger in a vehicle near the intersection of Pershing and Western when another vehicle pulled alongside and someone inside fired, said police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney.

The man did not suffer a gunshot wound, but the bullet “caused a bruise” to the man’s back, Sweeney said.

He was driven to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was treated and released, Sweeney said.
