Two women shot in South Shore

Two women were shot early Sunday in the South Shore neighborhood.

They were standing on a sidewalk in the 1700 block of East 69th Street a few minutes after 2 a.m. when a gunman got out of a silver SUV and opened fire, police said.

One of the women, 22, was shot in the left thigh and the other, 35, in both legs, police said.

Both were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where their conditions stabilized, police said.
