A semi-truck caught on fire on the Tri-State Tollway in the western suburbs Wednesday night, closing down three of the five lanes, police said.

About 8:52 p.m., the semi caught fire in the southbound lanes of I-294 at Ogden in Hinsdale, according to a statement from Illinois State Police. Within an hour, the vehicle was “fully engulfed in flames.”

Three of the tollway’s five lanes remained closed as of 10 p.m., police said.
