Firefighters found a 48-year-old man dead after putting out a garage fire in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side Thursday night.

Emergency crews responded at 8:11 p.m. to the fire in the 6300 block of West Berenice, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Juan Hernandez.

Oleh Lyubetskyy, who lived in the same block,was found dead,according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and Hernandez.An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Area North detectives have launched a death investigate on, police said.
