Lanes will be closed on the Dan Ryan expressway during the overnight hours this weekend as crews install beams for a new bridge at 63rd Street.

The left inbound express lane will close starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, and the closure will expand to the two left lanes at 11 p.m., according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. A full closure of all inbound express lanes will happen between midnight and 7 a.m. Sunday.

The inbound local left lane will also be closed between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Sunday, IDOT said. All of the lanes will reopen by 10 a.m. Sunday.

More closures are planned for Sunday night, this time with the two right inbound local lanes closing between 11 p.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday, IDOT said. All local inbound lanes will close between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Monday, but express lanes will remain open.

Access to the inbound expressway will be closed at 71st Street from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, IDOT said.

Motorists should expect delays and allow extra travel time.
