A 33-year-old man is in critical condition after he was found stabbed near the Garfield Red Line station early Monday.

Chicago Police responded to a call of a person stabbed about 4:50 a.m. at 220 W. Garfield and found the man on the street, stabbed in the head, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

A law enforcement source said it appears the incident may have actually happened in the 5400 block of South Princeton, which is about a three-minute walking distance from where the man was found.
