Police are warning people who sell Apple products on Craigslist after two sellers were robbed on the North Side after placing ads on the web site.

The victims had posted an iPhone or Apple Watch for sale on Craiglist, according to the community alert from Area North detectives. The suspects contacted the victims and arranged a meeting, then battered the victims with their fists and stole the products.

Both robberies happened Friday, the first in the 3100 block of West Lawrence at 7:15 p.m.; the second about an hour later in the 3900 block of North Western, according to police.

The suspects are described as two black men between 20-23, about 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds, and wearing all black clothing.

Police advise that Craiglist sellers request to meet buyers at a nearby police station to conduct transactions, and to keep detailed records of contact information used with suspects.

Anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 744-8263.
