Man shot in Chatham

A Chicago police officer was wounded in a shooting March 20, 2021, on the West Side.

A 28-year-old man was shot in the leg Saturday evening in Chatham on the South Side.

The shooting happened about 6:40 p.m. in the 8800 block of South Cottage Grove, police said.

The man, a documented gang member, took himself to Jackson Park Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
