There has been plenty of excitement on the North Side this season with the debut of rookies Kris Bryant, Addison Russell and Kyle Schwarber.

Individually, we’ve seen glimpses of the potential in all of them.

This past weekend, though, Major League Baseball saw the force the Cubs can be when their rookies, including Jorge Soler, are playing at top form all at the same time.

Schwarber, Bryant, Russell and Soler combined to go 20 for 53 with five doubles, two homers and 16 RBI in the four-game sweep of the Giants.

Here are their individual totals:

Bryant: .364/.533/.727, 2B, HR, 4 RBI

Russell: .357/.333/.500, 2 2B, 2 RBI

Schwarber: .333/.444/.600, 2B, HR, 6 RBI

Soler: .462/.533/.538, 2B, 4 RBI

Soler and Bryant have been particularly hot. Soler extended his hitting streak to nine games. He is hitting .370 with eight RBI in August after hitting .253 with nine RBI in July. Bryant extended his hitting streak to seven games, and his RBI single Sunday gave him 65 RBI, the most among rookies.

The Cubs have won 10 of their last 11 and have lost just once in August. They are now 3.5 games ahead of San Francisco for a wild card berth.
