A 21-year-old man was shot multiple times Tuesday night in the Homan Square neighborhood on the West Side.

He was outside about 8:20 p.m. in the 3700 block of West Polk when a gunman walked up and started shooting, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

The man was shot in the lower back, left leg and left arm and taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, Zala said.
